**** me, I hadn't known about this organisation till now. That has got to be one of the biggest gravy trains going. 163 member states, including Iran, Syria, Jordan, Cuba, North Korea, Libya, Nauru (where the ****'s Nauru?), Palau (rice?), St. Vincent and the Grenadines (ice and a little umbrella with mine, please), Tuvalu, Togo, Tonga, Vanuata and Yemen.

Expos must be able to not only provide a benchmark for the human progress made in a given domain but also propose a roadmap for the way forward – and the BIE works to ensure this."

Yeah, right.

And so it works by, in this instance, the UK (obviously one of the member states) supporting UAE (another member state). Clearly on a totally impartial and objective standpoint. I vote for Terry Wogan for Grand Maitre'D.

This week, we speak to Fiona Newson-Smith from the UK who has been living in the UAE for 11 years.

Smith and her company strongly support Dubai’s bid for the Expo. She even had her nails painted with the Dubai Expo logo while being on sick leave to show support.
