Default T-Shirts with slogans

What is it with this place and 'comedy' slogans on t-shirts. I notice this mostly within the pinoy community. My maid proudly wears t-shirts with the following statements on (amongst others):

'Not all men are bad, some are DEAD'
'I love Pinas!' (my personal favourite, I did explain it to her once but she didn't really get me)
'I know what boys want'

other personal favourites I've seen are:

'Look after your man, or I will have him' (she was maiding for a local family at the time)
'If it's too hard, it's not worth doing'

Is it me, or do these seem wrong? Why do only pinoys wear these t-shirts? Do they read them before buying them, or do they think it is funny? Where do they buy them?

When I was in Libya, a local colleague (a top guy) once wore a T-shirt bearing the words: "Don't give me grief, give me head". He was mortified when I explained what it actually meant.

Great thread. I once saw a guy stood on Hamdan Street in Abu Dhabi with a traditionally dressed woman. He was wearing a t-shirt that said:

"YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A DONOR TO GET MY ORGAN...."

Another time in Marina Mall at about 10am, I saw a young kid wearing the t-shirt:

"BETTER A BLOW JOB THAN NO JOB."

I've also been in Woolworths in Marina Mall when the Eminem album was playing over the tannoy, completely unbleeped and uncut mutha*****. None of the shopworkers appeared to notice or understand a word of it....

haha. I had forgotten about the blow-job no-job one. I've seen that one too.

Lisa Millhouse's favourite is the uncut songs in shops. If you listen carefully nearly it happens in almost every shop. The best one was in a coffee shop when Frankee's - Fu ck You Right Now was booming out. No one noticed...

when I was in court last year, dressed smartly being very respectful I saw some Lebanese bloke with a t-shrit that just said 'You're at the top of my to do list'.

Unbelievable.

PLEASE ask her where she got the Pinas t-shirt.

In fact that explains something...

There was a guy on reception called PEENUS! At least that is what it sounded like every time the other filipino receptionist yelled at him (about 100 times a day). But maybe she was saying PINAS!

But I'd love a PINAS! t-shirt as a fond remembrance of insane office moments.

I designed a couple of silly t-shirts based on living here... my mate made them up for me. They're back in the uk though. I don't *think* I'd wear them here.

One that says "my mum went to Dubai and got taken up the Burj Khalifa" with my son's drawing of the burj.

And another which has a graphic image of Sean Connery with the text "The name's Sir. Ma'am Sir."

Kept me entertained for two minutes.

Early 90s Abu Dhabi , my mate's 2 friends were arrested by the coppers for wearing a heavy metal theme t-shirt with 2 skeletons doing a naughty deed. Images are just too bloody obvious

If the cafes over there will let you play a single, you should have some fun with it, like putting on "hits from the bong"

There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

In Riyadh just after the first Gulf War, the US military boys wore some good ones.

"Only two things work out here: Patriots and Expatriates" was popular, but I liked the white t-shirts with "Saudi Beauty Contest" on the front. Immediately below the wording was a row of black keyholes...........

Superb thread..

I saw my neighbour's maid a while back with a tea shirt with the bold slogan.

'I Love Pussy'

Magic, so do I.

I've also been in a MOE store last year and the background music was Dr Dre..I was with my 3 year old.

When I say background music, it was bloody loud. 'Niggaz and bitches, mutha ****a **** the police' etc etc

Meanwhile they are trying to sell clothes to all ages and the shop was full. Surely it wasn't just me who heard what was playing.

I left as soon as my daughter started rapping along.
