Have you not been listening to the unelected President Gordon "Saviour of the world" Brown? It's Americas fault, all of it...

I still say wait and see.

Before the whole thing went belly up the bulls were saying the boom would carry on relentless, it didn't. Likewise the doomsayers are saying this will last for years, which I doubt.

It is all a confidence game. Currency is about trust, of which their isn't much about at the moment - confidence could return in a much shorter timespan than anticipated. Not saying things will return to where they were in the short term but I honestly don't think we are facing the catastrophe that everyone is predicting. To be honest no one knows - best to take each day as it comes otherwise we'll all be on prozac before we know it.

It's all chaos theory in practice, we were riding on the edge of chaos for a long time and now we've tipped too far. Yes there will be a dip but it will move towards an equilibrium before we know it, and then the whole sorry cycle will start again.

Hmm. Don't argue that it's a non-linear multi-variable dynamic system - but surely it's a low-frequency waveform (the boom-bust cycle) superimposed upon the non-gaussian pseudo-random noise of normal market volatility????

Anyone got a viable alternative to market price discovery??? It's surely the least worst system....
