Default Small business accounting systems

Would anyone have any recommendations for small business accounting apps or packages.

I mean very small - in fact there is probably no real need especially as no one usually needs to see your accounts in the UAE.

However it is probably a good thing to upgrade from an excel spreadsheet...

Have used Quickbooks before but this is way more advanced (and expensive) than required.

One package that looks decent (and indeed free) is www.waveapps.com and looks up to the job.

Anyone have other suggestions?

Many thanks in advance.

As you have no need to submit accounts and no tax issues, a spreadsheet is just fine. For most small business little more thah P&L figures are needed.

Unless your inner geek is asking for it...

Tally ERP
Have used it a few times and found it pretty straightforward but unfortunately I do not use it myself as I still stick with the old spreadsheet
I do know someone who can come and install it, give a demo etc
