Not a great game for a neutral to watch, but strangely enough I found myself shouting for Chelsea towards the end. Drogba is such an infuriating player, had Robben converted the penalty he would have been the villain of the night-not the hero.

I couldn't believe Terry togged out into the strip at the end, what a plonker.

Snap. I've always had a soft spot for Chelsea though.

Drogba seems to split opinion but there were no theatrics last night, just an absolutely world class, team focused performance. Penalty stupidity aside, he did nothing but run around, defend well and score a brilliant header. Serious bottle for the last penalty too.

I love him and hope they offer him the extra year he wants.

JT - I've always loved him on the basis of his ability and commitment (England salmon dive as a good example)....but have zero respect for him as a human being.

Terry is a disgrace. Wearing the strip when he was banned from playing is weird. Maybe so it looks as if he played in the photos? He is a vile human being and not fit to captain Chelsea, let alone England.

After finding out all about his charity work I have warmed to Drogba.

You're right, but I still subscribe to innocence until proven guilty. I also wonder why the same legal case wasn't created for Suarez/Evra saga, but who knows.

He's a twat but I rate him still as a footballer.

Drogba is like a Bellamy - can act like a knob on the field and people can dislike them for that, but both do bucket loads for their own and other charities.

Ordinary center half for me Scamp . Get's turned over against the very best especially in Tournament football .

Can't believe Woy took Terry instead of Rio , the football ability excuse doesn't add up .

This is a guy who got nutmegged off fu**ing Andy Carroll a few weeks ago , two carthorses together !

I have to agree with CDBoy. Terry is OK, used to be better, but he's not as good as the Chelsea fans would have you believe.

I really hoped that Hodgson would bring some ethics back into the national side. He's a decent, educated man and I hope that rubs off onto some the the numbskulls that end up in the team. In recent years I have increasingly wondered why many of them bother as they just don't seem to care enough, or have any real pride, when wearing an England shirt.

I believe Champions League football has killed off the appetite of International football . The rewards for player and club far exceed that of thumping the chest during the National Anthem .

The Champions League benefits everyone who's in the competition , from UEFA , playing staff , ground staff and right through to the tea boy . Some clubs just need it for survival as the rewards are that great and striving for Champions League football leads to the football equivilant to the golden fleece .

UEFA's new financial fair play rules will hamper the big spenders and teams like Bayern could dominate the competition for years .

Interesting times

I'll agree to disagree. I don't think Terry's quality and pedigree can be reduced to average, nor do I think his commitment can be questioned.

But that's what's great about football.

Terry has been a good player over his career, not exceptional but very good. He is past that stage now unfortunately for him and has nothing to balance up his acting like a prize twat moments.

I don't agree about commitment, its not enough to save a bad player. Carragher for Liverpool was defended the same way, what a committed player...slow, couldn't turn, gave away own goals but fantastically committed.

(C)Ashley Cole was fantastic last night, skilful and committed without the over hype about being committed (especially not expected from such a mercenary as him)

Also G Neville was hilarious at the end of the commentary, he lost the plot completely
