On the Rumours thread I have recently indicated that "someone in the know" promised a major announcemt on or about the 28th and assumed it may have been about a royal family member passing away. I had not considered the abdication option, which would be much better for all concerned.

Sheikha Latifa is getting married tomorrow the 27th, well at least the Men's wedding ceremony will be held tomorrow. The ladies ceremony is a about a week later...Or so they say.
Sheikh Hamdan is just engaged according to rumours, and Sheikha Hessa to marry soon.
Sheikh Mo and Hindi are in a "marry them off" frenzy...Why now all of a sudden?
