For non-chino wearers there is the benefit that the garishness of the colour of the chinos is directly proportionate to the prickishness of the wearer. They're like wearable avoidance indicators.

I have a red pair. Worn them about three times. Third time I did I overhead some fat old red nose **** say something along the lines of "****ing hell, look at his trousers".

Never worn them since.

Depends on the shoe. With flippies - no. With lace up shoes - yes. With loafer types - no.

Chinos? Chinos.

:goodpost:

BUT they need to be a good fit, especially if you're generously proportioned--I've got one pair that I look like a whale in, and another that look smart. You'll look dapper, I'm sure :D

Was that me? Even though I may have uttered something similar, I actually thought they looked good on you. :(

Absolutely. I've got a pair of very smart ones but they're too big in the leg and look like Chandler out of Friends (mid-90's). Terrible.

No. You're not a fat old red nose ****.

I think I wore red shoes once when we went for a beer?

My addled brain thinks you're right (on the second point, at least). Had to take someone out to dinner last night who holds the strings to a particular purse that's got some of our money in it, and it took Flag Speciale beer, Sahari Special Reserve red wine, Yellow Label gin and more Flag Speciale to get the strings moving. Not on top form today.

I think anyone who doesn't wear socks with shoes should be shot. There is a guy in my office who doesn't (lebbo of course) - he needs a proper bruising.

If I wear shoes without socks then I have those little hidden ones on to stop them stinking.

Maybe. I'm assuming most of you aren't going to the races anyway?

This is the first time I've braved the World Cup. Much prefer just going when it's quiet and calm...I think I already know that.

Decent bit of business then.

Get pissed, get enough money to get pissed again....13,090 more times.

That's you set for the next 35.86 years.

Company's money, not mine. Earned me some kudos, though.

You know the blue-ish colour on this website? Chinos that colour but slightly darker. White shirt with tiny little blue dots on it. Dark brown jacket with a sort of checked / don't know how to describe pattern. Brown shoes.

Sharp as you like.

very nice, but technically you should have gone slate grey jacket black/shoes but as long as you felt good that is all that matters x

TBH, I saw this jacket and just had to have it. Then I saw these trousers and like them and managed to get them in a 36" waist which is a minor miracle, so had to have them too. The rest just got chucked together.
