another criminally under rated band was Bourgie Bourgie / Paul Quinn



always had a liking for Scottish music and could never understand how they could produce such good stuff when in the NE we had Dire Straits, Lindisfarne, Jimmy bastard Nail, Gazza and Ant and Dec

Heartily agree with Biffy, Primal Scream and Teenage Fanclub, and the Travis were/are a bit hard done by, particularly there early stuff was great as were they live.

Others of note, in my opinion, Belle & Sebastian (who have a new album out later this year ), the sadly no more Beta Band, and the marvellous Frightened Rabbit:
