My mate Del who I have known for about 15 years got married a few years ago. I didnt even look at the invitation, so during the ceremony when the priest said Paul I was wondering who the hell he was talking about. Turns out Del's real name is Paul but as his brother is called Rodney his mates changed it to Del pretty much from day 1- even his family call him Del. Sometimes you just have no control over a nickname that becomes the name that everyone knows you by.

Bluecat- you would hate me - I shorten everyones name, you think it ant get any shorter- I bet it can! All my best mates are down to 3 letters or less!
Claire is a hard one to shorten so we call her by her surname.
