The Saville Case - who's next

Re: The Saville Case - who's next
What if the end is anti-climatic, i.e. no big name comes forth? People would be calling the investigation a whitewash, and frankly I couldn't disagree.

Freddie Starr. I can't believe that one wasn't on my list.
Personally, I think that era is going to yield a lot of names, sadly.

If all goes well we've got a Newsnight out tonight about a very senior political figure who is a paedophile.

... and if the Beeb don't get too scared (like they did over the Savile expose in the first place).

I'm hearing that the papers are going to go for it this time as they they were muzzled back then. I'm not so sure. It is so damaging to brand Britain that it could all get hushed up again. Having said that, it's all available to read about online, easy to find. So perhaps it will all finally come out. People didn't have that option back then and I remember discussing it with my parents and they flat out didn't believe me.

Not just one. This ties into some major allegations that were doing the rounds at sky back in the early 90's. Very big names, a veritable web of deception that covers VIP's, Diplomats and lots of politicians and tory party grandees of the thatcher era (and still around.) It was called a rent boy ring though, I don't remember it being called a paedophile ring.

Sorry maybe that wasn't clear. It's not the papers who care about brand Britain but the politicians and big businessmen, especially after this Olympic summer where a huge amount of time effort and money went into improving trade links etc. A scandal of this magnitude would damage that.

However, I had to rack my brain to place the PM's aide whose name was the only one I could find when trawling for this as the still-living big name Tory involved (there is a dead guy also whose name I have yet to uncover). I can remember most of Thatcher's cabinets and this bloke was not one of the big figures in any of them though I guess he was a more behind-the-scenes operator but even then no Parkinson or Ingham or Cosgrove or the like.
Have I missed something then?
