The spin here is that it was Clyde-built, as was I. I cannot say that I feel strongly about the QE2 heading to the scrapyard.

When they looked into the hotel-casino idea, they found the whole structure was riddled with asbestos - or was that just another rumour?

Vaguely recollect Dubai wanting to turn it into a Hotel moored off the Dubai coast, so googled and came up with these DM links.

Moved to Dubai dry docks for start of rehab work for hotel conversion according to the CEO of dry docks on Business Breakfast this morning. Will end up in some as yet undisclosed East Asian location owned by a consortium that will still include Dubai World. All sounded very murky....
