Default Saudi question

Any specific info on the Jadawel compound in Riyadh? Or on the multinational school? Thanks.

Certainly...I've never heard of either the compound or the school.

Jadawel was one of the 3 which was bombed in May 2003. I think it is a mainly US compound (military compound?).

Multinational school. Nor sure what curriculum they follow, but for a western family would be the 2nd choice after British International School Riyadh.

Has a more relaxed feel, less strict/formal. Smaller school than BISR.

Jadawel is mainly American. The houses are huge, really nice, 2 car garage, driver and maids room. Some have a pool. The compound itself is laid out like a small American town, straight roads, etc. The pool is ..so so, not that great. The restaurant is ok, not too bad. The tailor used to be excellent, the hairdresser used to be shite...unless you like the uniform shaggy bob kind of thing. The supermarket has American stuff, mainly. They used to have a little coffee bar in the main recreation hall.
IMHO, not the best place for parties...unless you like sit down dinners or parties that mainly maids attend.

And yes, they were bombed, some house had a lot of damage, but most did not. The houses nearest to the back gate, whee the blast happened, had obviously most damage, so check where your house is supposed to be on the compound.

Bear in mind, this is how it was about 5 years ago...I have been told nothing has changed...but have not seen it myself since I left.

Don't know anything about the Multinational School, except that it has the Australian curriculum.
