salik tag

quick questions folks....if you put your salik tag in the dashboard glove compartment (ie not stick it somewhere on the windscreen) will salik crossings still get picked up?

you need to put it inside a metal can (tuna will be fine) and make sure the can is connected to a metal part of the car. It will then amplify it accordingly.

I think he's being serious Mission.
Keep it in the glove box and just count the pennies that you save going through the tolls as they won't be able to pin the charges on your license plate :-) . When you check on SAlik.ae after a few weeks, there will be lots of AED which appear as fines, but are actually your rewards for the stealth approach.

I'd say no Mission.
What you can do if you don't want the vehicular version of a bindi spot is to trim it down with scissors. Just make sure you don't damage the chip.

I've also heard that microwaving them for 8 seconds erases the expiry date of them and then you don't have to renew them.

Why wouldn't you just put it where they tell you to put it?

the tag needs to be on the window as it acts as an amplifier for the signal back to reader.
