Having Tyrone from Snatch sit "next" to you on a flight. He'd let himself go a bit, too.

That happens to my husband a lot. Yeah, extremely annoying. Especially when they tell him about it at the last minute.
I'm meant to interview some guy for a role I know nothing about, who has no experience useful for the stuff I'm looking after? Why? What's the point? Is this a wind up? Am I on telly? Bizarre and hateful.

Re: Room 101
Well this morning I had a deal turned down by my investment committee despite weeks of lobbying and each individual member supporting the deal.
Pisses me off when people have no backbone. |

Re: Room 101
Just had a call from Etisalat asking if our company want to renew our current package, if so we need to email them. I thought they did things like this automatically, anyway…..
He said I’ll just need to reply to his email which he would send in the next 15 minutes. He asked me for the owner’s email address. Told him they should have it on their records. Apparently not as he’s phoning from a different department. Repeated the email address to him 5 times. I've got a feeling I'm not going to receive anything. It’s Thursday afternoon and I’m not really in the mood to call them. |

It's not that, it's that they're two faced arseholes who want to stab you in the back.
My beef really is with decision making by groups. |

Well that too. But in this case it wasn't quite that. One person (who hadn't been lobbied) contaminated the whole group and we sink to the bottom.

Re: Room 101
Fascinating thread. Went back through a few pages (it's fun to read backwards and having to keep going to see what sparked replies) and saw a little spat...has Meow not posted since?
Anyway, is testicle-faced media mogul Rupert Murdoch in? |

The original not the remake. Nothing like my investment committee though.

When has a remake EVER been better than an original?
Godzilla (most iterations) Batman (all iterations) True Grit (not that the original was bad) Heat War of the Worlds Casino Royale The Ladykillers (IMHO, although it's a close-run thing) Young Frankenstein I'm in two minds about Get Carter and The Italian Job. |

What do you think of the IT remake? I think it's alright but still prefer the original made-for-tv versions from the early 90s.
