Re: RIP to RIM
my iPhone is working like a dream, also, when I checked my other emails on my iPad, it worked like a dream as well. WhatsApp keeps working smoothly too.
Don't know what the fuss is about.

Re: RIP to RIM
It's a shame since I prefer the qwerty key handset but agree RIM are fork-lift-trucked after this. It's been said elsewhere that their architecture is a mobile version of now extinct dinosaur compuserve and ultimately single-point of failure is a disaster waiting to happen.
Open source Android is my bet for future winner if Apple can't keep on creating great new interfaces.
****** BB is useless this week though, would be furious if I were busy.

Now into the third day
And it took the idiots at Etisalat until this morning to send out a SMS of 'explanation'.

Bwah ah haaaa, bet they are over the moon about that?
Anyway most crackberry users I know are a pain in the hoop, they are never, ever off them - I'm sure it's a nice relaxing time for all now.

Re: RIP to RIM
The last few days have been very peaceful, reverting to old fashioned SMS and phone calls has been bliss.

BB is a platform that has clearly run its course, and can no longer compete with either Apple or Android, both of which have gazzilions more funky apps you can load, and are backed by the 2 biggest players. I gave it 18 months tops before it went tits up (a bit generous).
Android has phones and tablets at all price points, has an interface almost as cool as the iPhone, and most importantly is an open system, you can very easily run whichever flavour of Android suits you on almost every device. I run the Cyanogenmod version and it suits me just fine, quick, responsive and some neat extra features.
Having gone through all the options, he went off to Jarir to make his purchase, and came back with... a sodding BB
I got a call from him this morning, just one word - Doh!

Re: RIP to RIM
I like the design of the blackberry but it looks like my next phone will be an apple - will I have to say prayers to St. Steve of Jobs when I buy it?
