'cept that Moat's liver would have been knackered from the steroids. Or were you thinking he was going to cook it and eat it with the chicken? Doesn't do it for me, liver really only goes with fava beans. And a nice Chianti.

So was it 'roid rage?

George never sounded like Gazza, right up to the end, his scenario was bad but made worse by the press hounding him daily. They camped on his lawn for months just waiting for him to screw up again.

I was referring mainly to the rise and fall of a great player, who had problems one way or another.

Ah, my bad! Don't actually watch football myself, but as a person, he was a great fella.

George Best was a hero in our house, his picture was on the wall in the kitchen, right next to the virgin mary,

I met him a number of times, bit wasted as I'm not a football fan and people were always asking me to get an autograph! He was just very down to earth and not full of himself like todays footballers. Alex was sweet too.

As 'great' players go, Gazza wasn't fit to clean Best's boots.

that was a picture of Jesus!

I know they looked similar but one performed miracles and the other was a fictional character from some Jewish novel :)
