Ralph Lauren Shameful
The company evidently fires a beautiful model for being overweight (which she clearly isn't) and then photo-shops her image to appear ultra-thin. It's bloody disgraceful behaviour in my view. I certainly won't be buying any of their products anytime soon. Not that I would anyway.

hope they sacked the Photoshop guy... I mean, what's going on with the "waist"?! It didn't look remotely possible, let alone natural.

Re: Ralph Lauren Shameful
Ok models beng too fat and getting sacked I can live with- I've sent models home before for not being the size that their agency has specified as they won't fit into the clothing- however I think this is an exceptional case as a company like Ralph Lauren should have had her in for fittings before they shot this campaign so they would have noticed then if she was above their requirements and should have cancelled her contract there and then and chosen a slimmer model that would fit their samples/represent them how they wanted.
The retouching on this looks awful and she looks a bit lollypop head, I'm amazed any art director approved this- it must have been during fashion week and they were suffering from a huge hangover!
Retouching only looks good when its subtle, this looks terrible- I would say Mr Lauren isn't a happy bunny with the negative press either! Ralph Lauren represents a lifestyle- a healthy desireable lifestyle not a wafer thin couture one- I'm absolutely astonished that they have gone for such a look. I imagine someone will be sacked for this!

Re: Ralph Lauren Shameful
This is the latest photoshop disaster from Ralph Lauren to crop up, however, they've finally apologised for being "responsible for the poor imaging and retouching that resulted in a very distorted image of a woman's body."
I agree that photoshopping is the norm, but this is irresponsible advertising.
