Re: Public breastfeeding...
loving the comments though...
For a long time, I've wondered, if men are so easily "offended" by the sight of women, why don't *they* go around veiled and/or blindfolded? or maybe they could stay at home? No temptation there...

Re: Public breastfeeding...
well, that may be a tad radical, but effective...
The main complaints about breastfeeding are down to the social conditioning that went on in the 19th and 20th centuries where it was actively discouraged as being something that a/ poor people did (boo hiss, can't be having that!), b/ that it was highly inconvenient for all concerned (just like looking after the kid yourself - hmmm...) and c/ that formula/ milk products were better for the baby (Carnation Condensed Milk was first advertised as being healthy for babies!).
I actually had one indian chap tell me that I'd be better off giving my daughter "special medicated milk" rather than my milk, because "doctors had made it up"... Also I was really surprised at the number of people who were surprised that my daughter looked so healthy, given that she only had breastmilk up to her 1st birthday. WTF?! Yeah, 'course she is - it's natural and made especially for her!
Anyhow... some people are strange.
