Predictions for 2016
The onset of a brand new year.
What are your predictions for 2016? What will the world be like on 31 December 2016?
UK? Will the Brexit referendum happen this year? How will we vote? Will Corbyn still be Labour leader?
Gulf? What will the economic conditions be like by December? Bust / crash or stagnation? Oil prices? Saudi/Iran at war?
China? Crash or what?
Potential terror attacks?
How many migrants will Germany take in? How many women will be raped?
Oh, and yes, isn't there a presidential election in the US this year? Who will win?

I predict nothing exciting will happen.
Couple of rapes, some pillaging, mass murder. Same old thing every year

Trump will win. It will be the year of the anti-establishment. Better get used to it
And that thread was so, you know, last year.

You know I still have this conspiracy theory that Trump was hired by the democrats as a mole to screw up the Repubs but somewhere along the way the mole developed an anti-brain of its own. Even his face looks like a mole

If Trump picks a viable running mate I can see him stealing the race off Hillary - who really shouldn't be allowed to even stand looking at her antics over the years.

Newcastle and Sunderland will get relegated . Gazza will fall off the perch and England will win Euro 2016

Re: Predictions for 2016
If Trump becomes US President we can all throw in the towel. Surely even Americans aren't really daft enough to vote him into one of the most powerful positions in the world?

Not to mention the top rich want him as he will give them tax breaks. That nation is turning into one pure mass of ****s and the sad thing the good ones in there don't have the means to stop it from happening

The lesser of two evils though, Donald or Hillary?
At least Donald believes what he says, Hillary just says what she thinks people want to hear.
Come on USA, Trump, Trump, Trump!

Re: Predictions for 2016
With public opinion in favour of Brexit, fuelled by the biggest-yet refugee crisis once the weather warms up, Cameron and Brussels stall for more time and drag things on into 2017. No referendum this year.
Labour keep Corbyn but the Labour right within the PLP launches open attacks from the back benches and a 1980s-stylie fracas ensues, leaving them as unelectable as the Liberal Democrats.
Trump wins big in the US.
Gulf and oil prices in stagnation but not a crash. A meeting of minds and good progress on Syria and Iraq, with parties resolving or setting aside differences to take on IS, who are defeated militarily but switch their focus to attacks on soft targets across the Middle East, North Africa and Europe in particular. Libya no change. Saudi and partners dragged further into the mess in Yemen. Increased unrest in the Eastern Provinces. More belt tightening and the slow-down or suspension of most major infrastructure projects in the region. Opec keep pumping at present levels despite major unrest in Venezuela as Maduro seeks to undermine the opposition's 2/3rds majority in parliament through the usual dirty tricks.
At least one major terrorist attack on a Western capital.
China does okay economically, continues to flex its muscles in the region despite a Trump victory and reigns in North Korean excesses. No regime change in Pyongyang despite a push for this from some elements within the Chinese top brass.
Extraterrestrial life discovered.
A major scandal breaks involving several A-list figures from British public life.
Heathrow third runway gets the go-ahead.
Roy Hodgson picks a rejuvenated Gazza to lead his Euro 2016 side. England make the final before losing 5-4 on penalties to Germany following a Paul Gascoigne miss with the last kick. The England cricket team finally find a reliable Test opening partner for Cooke in Alex Hales and realise they should have listened to Michael Vaughan on Test Match Special all along. Sir Geoffrey Boycott finally receives his knighthood.

Re: Predictions for 2016
Hillary has been triangulating and stratigically saying and doing things for decades to further her goal of being 1st female Potus . She and her husband had no quams about receiving money from MidEast/North African autocrats even though she sells herself as a progressive . She was also quick to support the NeoConservatives with the Iraq war because she sussed that it would be good for her presidential ambitions.

Hillary says politically correct diplomatic most watered down intentionally vague comments and positions. I don't like Trump's stance on a lot of things but the guy is honest .
