Default Pest Control

Hello,

Our apartment door is near to the rubbish chute and the cretins that live on our floor keep dumping open bags of rubbish in there. Subsequently there are cockroaches appearing which is not nice at all.

The landlords are crap beyond belief and are doing nothing.

So - taking matters in to my own hands - I need to get a pest control company to come round - also one that will not kill our cats.

Anyone have any recommendations for a pet friendly pest control company in Dubai?

Many thanks,

Auto

Can't help you specifically, but we bought an electric tennis racket style bug zapper. Bloody satisfying - especially on the roaches as they can take quite a lot of zapping.

take great care using a pest control company here, there have been a number of deaths this year due directly to pest control companies using banned chemicals/not reading instructions or just plain over zealous spraying.

best bet is to keep an eye out for pif paf industrial strength spray, its a liquid that comes with a pump gun, wear gloves and a mask and diy, much safer, quicker and wont kill your cats.

We had a brief roach problem in the old villa.

For one month we kept absolutely no food in the villa. The kitchen was emptied of everything, and every few days we poured bleach down the drains.

They never came back.

I got mine at 'Le Marche' in the Ranches (which is a Geant), I've also seen them in Spinnys and Carrefour.

Cost (i think) 16Dh. - it even plugs in to the wall to recharge.

looks a bit like this

Do you have roaches out at the Ranches? How big are they?

so far we have only seen 2 or 3 of the little greyish ones - not the big brown bastards. Mini goes hunting for them - I fry 'em with the zapper.
