One thing I noticed whilst in the sea last weekend
How come it's so bloody salty over here?? It's mad, my eyes and throat were killing after I'd been on the banana boat,
any ideas?

It is because the sea is relatively shallow, especially further west. This results in a higher rate of evaporation which results in a higher saline level.
I find when I go diving around AD I have to use a lot more weight then I would around the East Coast and the Red Sea.

its also because its a fairly enclosed stretch of water.just the narrow Straits of Hormuz.
