Dear Moderators
Following on from Eva’s request in another post:
When we get passionate about a subject and begin to argue amongst ourselves, would it not be possible for you to allow the argument to run its course – providing, of course, that we do not: cause WW III; indulge in insults of too strong a nature (even for us, non-PC, adults); come to blows or make threats deemed criminal ?
You seem to draw the line at the argument reaching one or the other of the stages of ‘swopping petty personal insults’ and/or ‘making a minor threat - the physical undertaking of which would be patently unachievable/impracticable’.
Experience shows that, once that/those stages is/are passed, an argument will, quite often, develop more cerebrally.
To the spectators, an argument – if interesting enough – can be at least entertaining; serendipitously, it can also sometimes be satisfyingly heuristic.
As Eva has already requested, why not just give a head’s up to transgressors?
Simply request them take it to PM’s if they wish to continue to contravene the rules of the public forum.

Sure....it's what the TIO forum is for, not here and that thread was getting silly.
I don't have the time to deal with all the crap quite frankly, so when it gets nasty, it gets closed.
Might want to have a read of the site rules too.
