Just like it was no surprise that Bond survived being shot off the top a moving train and falling into a river, it is not really a surprise either that M in the shape of Dame Judi Dench was going to be replaced in this film. The new M shows great promise for future films though..

Come off it - I've been the one recommending the film unreservedly, and telling people not to hang around.

And although M's death was a stunning moment, it hardly 'spoils' the film - all is tied up at the end.........
