what i fail to understand is why anyone would actively seek out Indian food that was about as far from Indian food as possible and Chinese food that was about as Chinese as haggis, why oh why oh why.

We get some excellent "Indian" food here that isnt full of MSG, colourants etc so why yearn for something that taste like shit?????

Cant say the same for Chinese in Dubai unfortunately but the same stands, why yearn for MSG filled gloopy crap when good chinese is light, tasty and healthy

Its like yearning for a fray bentos pie

As I was pointing out earlier Chinglish & Brindian is a whole subset of cooking that has developed in the UK. Call it comfort food of you like, a bit like Angel Delight or fishfingers. It is entirely possible to like those as well as more authentic food.

Why be so snotty - not all Indian and Chinese food in the UK is full of MSG, colourants etc.

It just annoys me when you hear people say they cant get a "proper" whatever here, especially when its Indian.
Fish and Chips I'll agree with as there isnt a single place here that does that even remotely well

That fish and chip place near the toyota building on szr had a massive hygiene issue.

From someone who lived in the diamondlease building who overlooked the place
