I guess that if the shop is the sort where lots of people like to try stuff on (M&S, etc) then it might be a reason to wash first.

I don't wash new clothes, I used to wash some baby stuff before she wore it though and all her new baby stuff I did wash. Atilla wants his new shirts washing before he wears them as they are creased etc. A bigger problem is keeping whites white, currently using this clorox whitening thing but I can see no difference
I guess I wash all new clothes cos my mum did

Send them to the laundry - all those white kandooras (dishdashas) are kept pristine by being washed and ironed in the countless number of laundries plying their trade across the Emirates.
