Retaliation against some Muslim bus drivers allegedly but widely reported not allowing guide dogs on buses?

Unless it is company policy he should be sacked. same as any muslim driver refusing to allow guide dogs on a bus (or any other dog unless it is company policy)
That said it should be company policy not to allow people on the bus if their face is covered. I remember getting on a bus near Russell square a few days after the bombs and seeing a women in a veil in the front row of the bus. Was very close to getting off and waiting for the next bus

"I realised it wasn't due to me getting on the bus, this may be a racist attack."
Poor bitch, she doesn't even know the meaning of racist. If she's dressed like an angry ninja how is he supposed to know what race she is. He may be culturally biased, but I think pulling the race card is stretching it somewhat.
But then the use of the race card to try and brand those opposed to a dark ages set of misogynist superstitions is not exactly a new tactic.

I want to know why the media does not come down hard on those using religion as an excuse when one tries to pass off the Niqab or Burqa as a religion issue since there is no mention in the Quran about wearing any such garb.

i'm sure the bus company has something in their published terms about being allowed to deny access to anyone they wish. similar to what retailers and restaurants have; if they don't want to serve you they can decline.
it's not a racist policy, but of course it can be used in that way.
if these girls are so religious that they have to wear a veil (for the record i know there is nothing religious about it, but all fundamentalist muslims think there is) then they definitely shouldn't be taking a bus as there will be loads of men they are not related to on there.

Re: No veils allowed on the bus...
True its a cultural uniform but because Saudi and the arabs are considered the center point of Islam (due to Mecca being there) its become widely accepted as a religious clothing. The only real religious item of clothing there is a head scarf not the entire veil.
Having said that we pride ourselves in UK for being a democracy and giving people rights thats why things like these are made a big deal and I think thats good. The day we stop kicking up a fuss over our rights whether thats our neighbour putting his fence half a foot into our garden or getting on the bus in a veil is the day we will become ignorant like the states (no offense- love the country hate the laws).
The Dean- you post was pathetic and offensive
