Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
Hi just to introduce myself seeing as I'm already picking brains.
I am an old broad who is profoundly deaf, if you tell me I can't do something because I'm deaf I have to prove you wrong I have been a nurse since I was 18 ended up a respiratory specialist. I Have a full motorbike license, paint oil paintings (I'm crap but some people buy them??) carve wood and pyro wood oh loads of crafts.
I am useless at quizzes as I'm always three questions behind but I'm great at organising.
The OH whose visa it will be is brilliant at quizzes he has a trivial mind
we are not definitely coming, he is still in the selection process we currently live in Australia but need to be a bit nearer the UK due to family health problems. So when he was approached through linkedin we thought why not it could be fun!

Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
Not too bad Sue actually after a rocky start, within 3 months of moving here I lost both my Parents and my Husband lost his Father sadly but were trooping on.
Father in law one day, My Mum 4 days later and my Dad 3 Months later.....
Our 2 Boys have settled at a different school now to the one they started at and we moved from The Springs to The Villa in Dubailand, much better back here, bit of a drive to everywhere but am more confident driving now, was terrified at first !
Husband promoted so all going well there and I still struggle a bit with being homesick and lonely but getting out there, go horse riding once a week and have started fitness classes, doing 3 a week, enjoying that.
All good with you ? x

Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
Hi All,
I wonder if I can be of any help to anyone here? I lived in Baghdad, Iraq for over 30 years, had a family and brought them up there. I know the language, people, customs etc.
I left AFTER the Mother of all Battles, so that was an experience I would not like to go through again. Lots of memories of the time when Saddam was in charge, his sons, the whole family was always on the TV, many stories I can tell of that time.
Everything changed after that first attack-the destruction, the way people behaved-it was all slowly eroding.
Now those days are just a memory.

You must have seen many changes during that time. Do you miss living there?
