New Year Resolution

Anybody on here make them?

Keep them?

If so, what's your 2013 resolution going to be?

I flirted with not smoking but that's just stupid. I'm considering a takeaway / delivery ban, but that's just stupid too.

I think it's going to be something nice like playing more golf. Not sure yet though.

Maybe it's going to be money related.

Get a job that means I don't dread Sundays...
Appreciate my wife and kids more...
Stick to the workout plan and lose 5 more kg...
Get golf handicap to a playable 10-12...

All of which I feel are achievable and realistic.

Not a resolution as such but going back onto my healthy eating lifestyle as it has gone a bit off track during the last month or two.

How will you get the handicap down a couple more shots? Just by playing more?

Practise makes a massive difference. A couple of hrs week at the range hitting balls, chpping and putting weeks really helps bring the score down.

But yep basically playing more and better course management i.e remembering that when I'm in the cack I am not Tiger Woods and cannot hit a draw with a three wood 270 yards to protected green.....

Watch a Greg Norman thing on my flight back here last night. Said he spent 35%+ of his time chipping/pitching from 80yds and closer.

Driving for show, putting for pro/dough.

The only thing I never bother with before tee-time is putting. The putting greens are never the same as the acutal greens.

Lose some weight

Focus more, so I can fit some extra things into my work life

I may have accidentally quit smoking alread. Had one since 20/12, mainly through being unwell and staying home, but had a low key brunch with friends on Friday and didn't want to smoke then either. Question is can I keep it up? Hanging around smokers in bars is always my downfall.

Have a couple of holidays.

I'm always interested to see what people send in an offensive PM.

I also don't really get the point. If I received one I'd be tempted to just post it for all to see.

I tried to bait him on another thread to get an abusive PM, but I suspect he is only comfortable picking on ladies. Shame really I was in the mood for it this arvo.

Meow is not discussing moderators actions darling she is quoting site rules and suggesting that they get enforced. :D

While I agree with that on the whole, I find it hard to believe this is the first time people have asked for him to be banned. It seems it took it being discussed in public for the first time for any action to be taken.

Banning trolls promptly will solve a lot of the issues.

I agree but sometimes you have to give some posters enough rope to show that they are trolling. Also moderators aren't hovering around the site all day waiting to pounce :)

I think it's the same dude who has posted under various other names recently. He sent me a bunch of abusive PM's as well (and I'm not a lady...)

I would not be too worried about him. He's a couple cans short of a six-pack with a serious self-esteem issue.

These resolutions are predictable and boring.

I plan to masturbate less and grow a beard. Both are definitely stretch objectives.

:frown:

That makes me sad. What type of twisted *****er has the time or inclination to do that & then gain enjoyment from it???? Isn't there a 'block' button? I enjoy your posts (along with the other normal (??? lol) regulars.

I wonder if its the chap (or indeed chapess) that had some nasty banter with Norsk on another thread a few gallys back?? Hmmm I'll just do what I normally do and sit on the sidelines, but wish you well and hope these nasty b*ggers go away & you continue to post!!!

NY resolutions for me ....well I gave up a fairly long lived smoking habit in Oct 2011 so I didnt have to bother having that as one for last year .....lasted till Aug 2012 so its firmly on this years list :-( Back on the Champix from next week .....sigh, and yes I'm totally stoooopid!! Weakness around drink & other smokers whilst on hols.

Drink more vodka coloured liquid (water) and less vodka.

Ride the pony more make it fitter.....which in turn (in theory) should make me a bit fitter too.

That's it on the NY resolution front, other than to not make any more NY resolutions!

Wishing you all an achievable and happy new year!

What are you going to make "in an idiot"? Having made them, what do they become? Will you be able to sell them on? Are they edible? Is it an idiot you already own or are you going to have to go and buy 1? where do you get 1 from anyway?.

So many questions and only 27 and a half hours before you make whatever you are going to make in the idiot...the excitement of it all darling!! :D:D

Surely New Year's resolutions are a complete waste of time. Why wait until the start of a new year if you think you need to change something in your life?

Of course the majority are, but for a lot of people it might be the nudge to actually do that thing?

A little assumptive - Whats to say they are not just updates on existing objectives... And the principle works on a number of levels, for instance do we not set resolutions in business (strategy, objectives, target, budget). Same principle they're just given a different name and may take place in year with a different New Year (ie April to April)... And yes thay can be adjusted as we go but they are still defined at the start of the period.

To me its just about setting an objective and giving myself a timeline to achieve it against, the turning of the year just makes a memorable benchmark...
