200k in Mirdiff will get you a mansion, plus plenty left over for earplugs

Re: Moving back to Dubai
Just live in Arabian Ranches. You'll get a nice 4-5 bed Saheel villa. It's only an extra few minutes down Emirates Road from Silicon Oasis and you'll be heading against the traffic into Sharjah so it's a smooth commute for you. DSO is still a bit raw around the edges and the Ranches feels more connected to the rest of Dubai.
I currently drive to DAFZA which is near the border with Sharjah (behind the airport facing Al Ghusais), and I never have traffic problems going to/from New Dubai.

Re: Moving back to Dubai
fantastic news! yeah try the Arabian Ranches more going on there for the Mrs, little mall etc. As for schools well you won't get into JESS on the ranches that is permanently full, so after that take your pick at the ones in Jumeirah. It will be a pain of a drive down from the Ranches everyday but that is the only option. DSO is a bit far out but people who live there send their kids to DESS. MH will advise on schools in Mirdiff.

So, what schools can she realistically get into? She is 3 and will be starting in September. English curriculum is essential, none of the international or yank guff.
I would have thought DESS would be full??
Christ, id best get onto EW for a rundown off the Jumeriah Jaynes

Mini got a space in FS1 at DBS pretty easily. No idea if it's good but he likes it.
School run from the Ranches isn't that painful... 25mins there, 18 back - 7 mins of that is due to speed bumps in the Ranches, if you are in Saheel then you could take a few minutes off that.

wouldnt rate it as 'fantastic', we much prefer Abu Dhabi, but i guess its where the work is...
