I saw this yesterday, the fact she doesn't have her phone with her says one of two things, either:-

a) Foul play or
b) She doesn't want people to know where she is.

Are the police taking this seriously? Cameras everywhere, the car can be tracked really quickly if needed.

Hope the lass turns up safe and well but I fear for her, this isn't natural - anyone remember the Kerry Winter case? Or the Timmy MacColl one?

Neither has ever been found.

Of course they can. Maybe if she has left the country, she's asked that the Police/Immigration people don't release those details.

On a totally not related note, there was a tiny article in one of the local rags a few days ago about four men arrested for murdering a female Chinese "tourist" in UAQ. Glad to see this didn't end up as one of those awful situations.

But yeah, it does make you speculate on what you'd actually do if your GF suddenly disappeared. Risk going to the police and being arrested for out of wedlock sex? Subject yourself to potentially intense investigation for months, along with mysterious jail times and trials all in Arabic and you have no idea what's going on or being said, before falling afoul of some conservative judge who decides to wrap it up quickly to save Dubai's face by sentencing you as an example of western hedonism?

Next thing you know it's you on the cover of the DM.
