Default Michael Jackson 'This is it'

Scenario: Grumpy old man (me) dragged by wife to Festival City Movie theatre to watch 'This is it'. Presumption that it would be tripe and pretty 'whacky'. However....

I was extremely surprised how good it was. If we can put to one side the whacky/weird stuff he (allegedly) got into, I never realised exactly how talented (genius?) he was. It was a brilliant movie which had some awesome music, singing and dancing. He was also a very polite and humble human being.

Definitely reccomended viewing, particularly for Jackson cynics.

(OK I do realise I am also going to get the obvious replies about the kiddy stuff)

Go buy some of his albums, the guy was amazing! if you listen to recent dance music you will hear a lot of his stuff as the backing track in one way or another it's just not always easy to spot.

I agree absolute musical genius. I would say the most influential musical artist of the last century. Personal life was an absolute car crash though- but who wouldn't be a bit fooked up being so massively famous from such a young age, with no idea of what normality is, oh ok Britney Spears.. oh no shes a car crash as well..Drew Barrymore (ok shes came good in the end but certainly went off the rails), the Olsen twins- whoops no -eating disorder city, erm are there any who havent gone on to have troubled adolescents/ adulthoods? not that i believe any of that can change a persons sexual preference, but of course those charges were dropped so we shall never know....

Definitely agree with the comments here, this is a must see for all fans of his music, missed out on the concerts or those that just admire pure talent. To think he was 50 years old and still dance like he could was amazing.

maybe tribute wasn't the right word, it's the Worlds No 1 MJ impersonator, full show etc, looks good but I am going to see Mitten's face light up when she sees all the lights etc
