Can't remember laughing more than sat in the embassy club. The good old days. A legend sadly missed.

I wonder what makes an Indian laugh ? Paki jokes ?

Hindus have a collection of Sikh jokes, (turbans make the brain overheat etc.) , but usually no malice, that's the difference. Similar to Irish jokes.

Pakistan is usually no laughing matter!!

There was no malice with Bernard either. Quite a few darkies used to turn up at the embassy club but they did have a sense of humour

Ok back to Mecca

Which one are you referring to? The great story today certainly caused laughter.
(Known as the buffalo by many Tamils).
Do you laugh when British politicians lie?

Some others have a different opinion. What is your definition of "a darkie"? Not a word often heard among the educated!

Well perhaps you are not quite so educated and worldly wise as you think.
Darkie was a term used by Bernard in his jokes in the early 70's

That was the point of my remarks about Bernard Manning!!! I would have thought most would not take him as an educated role model??

(To learn from this Forum that an expat does, that is the education:lol:)
