I doubt it on Macs - Apple have a global pricing scheme.

Macs are the way to go though, far superior to Windows (or go for a Mac and put Boot Camp on if you really need Windows).

My husband got a 20" imac 2.4 from iStore at Ibn Battuta yesterday for 5999aed (which is the same as competitors) but the extra 1G of ram was free (other stores ranged from 350 to 750aed). So there are small savings to be made at the moment. By the way, I don't actually know what I'm talking about with all this technical stuff, I just had to phone around and ask for prices. My husband agrees with Northernlad and we have everything mac in this house.

If you also have a PS3 you can stream stuff to PSE from your Mac - http://www.twonkyvision.de/

Good for watching downloads or photos on your TV.

Once you've had Mac, you'll never go back.

Might be worth bearing in mind if you buy a lot of Mac hardware or software:

If you join the Emirates Mac Users Group (EMUG) about 150 Dhs per year you get membership discounts.
http://www.emiratesmac.com/index.php?page=usergroup

For example:

Discount off of one purchase per month at an iStyle Store the UAE. The discount is 6% on Mac Pro/MacBook Pro, 4% on iMac/MacBook/MacMini, 2% on iPods, and 7% on Accessories (including software).

At participating Salam Studio and Stores in UAE, members can get special offers and sign up for a customer loyalty program.

15% discount on Knomo bags.

5% discount on any finished goods product, e.g. Macintosh computers, at Computer Direct Access (CDA) in the UAE.This offer does not apply to accessories, iPods, or software.

Not sure about Bootcamp - I presume it works like VMWare, using a virtual machines. I've seen Macs running Windows on VMWare and it works very well.

Don't know but I am told X-Plane is the most realistic flight sim available on any platform, which includes the Mac and it is cheap.

http://www.x-plane.com/ is good, but it isn't really a game. They use it for training pilots.

There is also an Apple store in the Dubai Mall on the ground floor near the inside/outside shopping boulevard.

Going to get a Macbook Pro soon having been given Photoshop Elements for a Mac for Christmas.
