i made the mistake of going to 'societe' in the byblos, Fri night....what a dive of a joint....music was good...but the crowd of full of mingers wanting to score...mostly white english girls and plenty of arabs, who barely looked old enough to even know what 80/90's music is.
(I did a multi-centre with Mauritius so wanted to save most of the budget for that part of the hol!)I must say it is a bit dated, although haven't really seen other hotels in Dubai yet (with exception to the Burj Al Arab where I visited for afternoon tea...)
I do remember passing the Byblos bar area when they had some entertainment on and it did look a bit tacky to say the least...

Umm.
cough cough
A certain bar in Bur Dubai. Lots o' ladies. Just not the kind to take home to your mother.
I'll let the others fill in the gaps.
What's fascinating is reading the tripadvisor reviews for the hotel the bar is in.

Not been there in 10+ years mind you.

To be fair, at least you know what you're going to get there, no frills, no bullshit, unlike a lot of bars further down the coast.

Still, was alright. Nothing special, but not totally atrocious from what I remember. A normal pub.
