The League of Gentlemen
Have just been loaned a DVD compilation of this UK comedy series. To be perfectly honest, I have never heard of it but couldn't really refuse. Do I bother watching it? Its got one of those Little Brittain characters that I hate and is supposedly very politically incorrect. Any views?

takes a lot of watching to get into.
I'm sure you will hate it. I thought it was very good.

A little bit of dialouge between Tubbs and Edward for any LOG geeks....
[a policeman is questioning Tubbs when Edward enters]
Edward: Hello, hello. What's going on, what's all this shouting we'll have no trouble here.
Tubbs: He's looking for a boy.
Edward: Poofter, eh? Little bummer boy. Come before your type in the forces, you won't catch me with my trousers down!

Edward: You people are all alike, You march in here, young! try and touch the local things. I suppose next you'll be spraying me with one of those cans of paint, smearing poor Tubbs here with excrement.

Edward: I used to be in a war. And I put paid to quite a few like you, this is a decent town and a local shop, there's nothing for you here.
Tubbs: Tell him I can't have babies anyway. Tell him my insides are all wrong.
Edward: Go on then, take the precious things of the shop, burn down our home,
[shouts]
Edward: rape our dead mouths! Just as long as I don't have to hear any more of your disgusting babble.

Nobody from Little B in it I'm sure.
Utterly brilliant, disturbing and rather unsettling. I was re-watching an episode from series 3 last night - 'The Lesbian and the Monkey', and knowing the characters it just makes you shiver.
It's not for the 'Nanny', 'fresh prince', afficianados, but it touches a seam of unsettling humour, beautifully captured.....
....at the toad fanciers house.... to Benjamin.... "I find semen such a difficult stain to remove!.'.... priceless......

Isn't Royston Vasey the real name of one Roy Chubby Brown?
