Default Kick back to the Eighties!

Following on from the Viennetta, tinned fruit, arctic roll eighties talk on the cake thread -

What sticks in your mind about the eighties?

I always remember being extremely proud of my monstrous stacking hi-fi system with double tape deck - It was always a case of the bigger the better in the eighties!

I bought a massive Phillips Ghetto blaster - about £200. Still got it and it still works well.

As far as food is concerned - Matchmakers, no dinner party was complete without them.

I always wanted a perm - a demi-wave.... couldn't afford one so instead I had a massive hairsprayed fringe. My hair was officially one hundred percent flammable in the 80's

Large tins of Insette hairspray - The ultimate 80's hair product
Held every individual hair rock hard in place
killed your lungs
acted as a room spray/fly repellant.

The shirts my parents made me wear when I was a kid.

I seem to remember this bright neon pink, green and blue striped Hang Ten t-shirt in a picture taken on a trip to Canberra in 88.

I remember strutting around with my 3D super woofer with a 5 band graphic equaliser. The only music allowed to be played was simple minds or U2.
