Jinns
Friends of a Muslim exorcist fear he may have been killed by a disturbed patient who thought they [sic] were possessed by 'evil spirits'.
Zakariyya Islam, 45, was stabbed to death at his 'black magic' Ruqya Therapy Centre in Whitechapel on Monday and died at the scene.
A 43-year-old man known to Mr Islam was arrested and police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else.
Mr Islam specialised in dealing with people who believed they were possessed by evil spirits or 'Jinns' by reciting passages of the Koran.
...
[A neighbour (a video producer)] said: 'The speculation is that one of his patients was possessed by a demon and they got in and attacked him.
'Lots of demons possess people and it's a crisis. It's very possible that a demon wanted to attack him. These demons hold a grudge - it's possible one of them used a body to attack him.'
'There was blood all over the floor in the street right in front of my office. It's scary and shocking that something like this could happen just next door.

What's scary (but unfortunately not shocking) is that an increasingly significant part of the population believes that people can be possessed by spirits who hold grudges, and that such spirits can be exorcised by reading from a plagiarised book.
I'll take Bombay Sapphire with some expensive tonic and a good wedge of lime, please.

Re: Jinns
Once when I was very young, I used to have bad nightmares so my mom took me to this 'holy man' and 'apparently' a female jinn was in love with me so my mom had to pay some money to get rid of her. Ofcourse it was a sham but tbh I wouldnt mind a fling with one of those now
On a serious note these jinns or demons' names are only used by con-artists hiding behind the veil of religion and preying on the poor souls who are not strong in faith or are of a lower IQ class.

Re: Jinns
Muslims are required to believe in angels and in the djinn.

I wouldn't go to Oman in general and nizwa in particular then if I were you. The djinn in nizwa are very strong. Your disbeliever views may be attractive to the lady djinns. I think you should be more respectful

Re: Jinns
It's not the jinn, it's the tonic that counts.
Not that stabbing seems a great tonic.

Tosh. It's the same as photo editing. Editing (tonic) can improve an already good photo (gin), but will never make a bad photo good. There's a huge range of gins, with a greater range of flavour than exists among whiskies.

Re: Jinns
Personal preference I guess. I'm fussy over vodka and rum rather than the mixer but the opposite with gin. I think it's from both my Mum and Step Mum as they were the same.

Schweppes is average; there are some good high-end ones, the names of which I can't recall. Some gins are good on the rocks. I only discovered the magic which is gin in my 40's, thanks to a Scottish friend who doesn't like whisky.

Re: Jinns
Not a huge gin drinker if I'm honest. More likely to have a vodka tonic than a gin tonic. I don't drink many drinks neat to be honest, apart from whisky, which obviously avoids the rocks. Got a friend that swears by whisky on ice but I think that's sacrilege.

I am sure there is relevance in the homonyms.
