Infectious Disease
Tonsilitis is doing the rounds. My daughter had it about 2 weeks ago, I then went down with it last week, and now my younger son has it. Could it be relevant that she lives in Newcastle, I’m in Morocco and he’s in Yorkshire, and we haven’t met for a couple of months?

Re: Infectious Disease
I am currently at deaths door with a cold, (yes i get man flu). The trouble is if i want a day off my boss makes me go to the local hospital to get a sick note and then I get interrogated about exactly how ill am i, how long will i be off for etc.
****ing ridiculous. If i had my way everyone who had a cold or a stomach bug or flu would have to take a mandatory 48 hours off work.

Theseus - we have that at work. Everyone is allowed per year 3 times 48 hours personal sick leave, before the health cops (HR) have a word with you.

Which is less than the deaths from normal flu...which was around 25,000 in the UK alone in 2010. http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/...aths_large.png

yup but this novel corona virus kills about 50% of people who get it. So far its of interest but no more but given where its is and how likely the authorities are to botch it it may become a very serious concern. add in its epicenter is in jeddah and hadj and it could get nasty fast
