Bring on wireless! Hang on, isn't that already available? OK, maybe not for power, but at least for digital signals. Something like Bluetooth but with the bandwidth.

Yeah, that's the stuff I was referring to, but with a TV and e boxes at different levels with leads going between them and then off to power and aerial sockets, it still looks like a scene from Brazil. And while it may be tidy at one end (although its not coz I'd have at least 3 big black tubes), the cables aren't the same length and/or easily shortened, so I'd still have an ugly mess spewing out the other ends.

fair enough, i have managed with the above and a few cable ties to reduce the dozen or so cables down to three enclosed cables and using the cable ties to get them all to the same length at the sockets, not perfect by any means but the best i can do without the mythical wireless solution

Sure it can be done reasonably well but I ended up hot, sweaty and swearing jammed between the boxes and the wall. Lived with it for the last several decades so I guess its just gonna be one of those things that's still in my in-box when I shuffle off this mortal coil...
elec tape, cable ties, bulldog clips..... get medevil on your.... oh sorry....

The light this expert shines upon the whole issue explains everything!
Just when I thought it was safe to take the tin-foil umbrella off of my margarine... no wonder I've been having headaches!
Now if only I can verify the veracity of the gluestick butter phenomenon that is so prevalent as of late...
