Because you can - in the same way 2014 Ramadan, I was living in Al Hamra, the yacht club bar opens at 6am, at 7am I was sat outside with a bacon (yes, propoer pork bacon) sarnie and a pint of Stella, not because I necessarily wanted Wifebeater, but because I could. In the UAE, In Ramadan.

ugh!!
I once downed a full bottle of ouzo (one go on a dare) in college and needless to say that was the worst night of my life, I was lucky to have good friends who took care of me
but atleast I didnt have to go to the hospital, another guy did the same thing next week and they had to flush his stomach out and alcohol poisoning and emergency call to his dad in Pakiland
who came down the next day and walked into his dorm room which had a HUGE pyramid of J&B bottles just to show off haha! What a great day that was!
two things I can tell you for sure
1. If your kid can survive college these days, he/she is more smarter than you give them credit for
2. I never drank Ouzo again after that night, or arak, or ritzina or anything in that family

...definitely a dire moment in my life
1.the time I got on the tube and was sat down with a couple in the seat opposite me....I had my hands over my mouth and was trying to hold back the vomit until I got to my stop...I couldn't manage it and the vomit sprinkled out between my fingers...I profusely apologised to the couple, who were actually very understanding.

I've got loads of crazy stories because I used to run the rugby club pub in town + we were sponsored by the strip club.
At the tender age of 16, (i think even a virgin), i remember picking off sushi of a naked womens breast at the end of season due. I don't even like sushi. Nothing like eating STI ridden glittered filled sushi.
The chat up line "Oh i run a pub in town, wanna come for a lockin" was used a lot; so was the pool table

ive got the same thing at home from Lebanon, I can assure you it is an acquired taste but can be a good friend if you have had little sleep

Visitors are puzzled when they see the Ottoman tastes I acquired when in the Middle East and the Balkans. Turkish Coffee ! Of course I do not openly display my harem and other aspects of my Ottoman lifestyle !

Turkish coffee with no sweetner is my favourite thing to order. They look at you as if you're mental.
Occasionally with rose water is nice.
