And Bahrain were in dispute with Qatar until very recently about the Watchjacallum Islands between the two. There was also the strange story from the 18th (??) century when the ruler of Bahrain took over Qatar and the ruler of Qatar took over Bahrain. No love lost there !

No, not much love between them. When the current ruler of Bahrain declared that Bahrain was now a 'Kingdom' , the Qaatari's were highly amused, and there was some indiscrete muttering that now they were ruled by a King, it was an improvement on being a country, ruled by a ...!
