Re: Hopefully maybe insh'Allah
Saga continues.
Phoned them early Thurs afternoon, demanding to speak to a supervisor. Was told they were in a meeting, call back in 1 hour.
Called back in 1 hour. No supervisors available, but got a promise that one would phone me on Thursday. Hadn't by 7, phoned again, all supervisors had gone home for the weekend. Lying useless halfwits. No technicians working on Friday, so prospect of the both of the 1st two weekends after installation without a working connection.
Called Saturday morning, eventually got through to a supervisor after first guy left me on hold for 5 minutes before putting me back to the main menu. Supervisor actually listened, apologised and promised to get it fixed--permanently--by 9am Sunday.
We shall see.
(Apologies if this is boring any of you. Its sure as hell boring me.)

Re: Hopefully maybe insh'Allah
If you recall--if there's anybody left reading this--they'd promised to fix it by 9 this morning. I held off phoning till 10:20, to be told that the complaint is still open (ie its not fixed), and that the technical team has tried to make an appointment with me. More lies. I'm now on highest priority--oh, **cking whooppee--and it "should" get resovled today.
Lies so far:
Technician (fixing for the 2nd time), in response to my question "is it permanently fixed now?" "Yessir, we've identified the problem and it won't happen again."
Call centre staff: "I'll get a supervisor to phone you today sir."
Call centre supervisor: "It will be fixed by 9am Sunday."
Call centre staff and/or technical team: "The technical team has tried to make an appointment with you today."

Bahtatboy
If you want to get this fixed, PM me. I have had similar problems resolved with Etisalat and even got one reader a refund of several month's charges.

Still no progress. Called Etisalat twice: "Hasn't anybody called you?". Allegedly technical team are dealing with it.
Days from initial installation: 14
Days internet has been working: 3
Number of broken promises by Etisalat: 7 (1: Initial installation wasn’t done when they said it would be. 2: Re-arranged initial installation wasn’t done at agreed time. 3: Didn’t fix problem within 2 days. 4: Didn’t fix problem within 2 days. 5: Didn’t fix problem within same day. 6: Supervisor didn’t call. 7: Didn’t fix problem within agreed timescale.)
Number of failed attempts by Etisalat: 3 (at least)

100Gb/month is the 'unlimited' amount - 3GB/day, hopefully the live TV streaming will be below it.

Internet working at 12:53pm, allegedly as a result of a new cable having been installed.
Wondering if it'll be working when I get home for my tea...
