I have flown with them a few times (yesterday in fact). Generally very good - nice and clean, food (if you buy it) is better than the usual rubbish served in economy. Best of all, they sell Lion Bars.

I have had the same experience (except the Lion bars) on Easyjet, Air Arabia and Air Asia for instance. Low cost airlines can be fine when everything goes smoothly. But the problem with many of these carriers (especially smaller ones like Flydubai with limited fleet and route frequency) is that when something small goes wrong it can become a major mess quickly....

True about the Emirates part, but then you've also go Ryanair and Easyjet. Both all economy (in fact, super economy) airlines with no rich parent airlines company.

Same applies to Air Arabia and Air Asia - both top notch in my (limited) experience.
