These excuses seems to be getting from bad to worse...
First that fool from the Uk who blamed his 'Islamic' upbringing for meeting a girl on facebook, booking a hotel and claimed he was naive etc...and now this.

Well in fairness, like any criminal scumbags anywhere, they are looking to exploit any angle they can to defend themselves as neither remorse nor humility are likely to suddenly shine through.
The issue is that the law might reflect the Hijri age as the relevant one thus further reducing (in a typically arbitrary and unscientific way) what is already a dangerously low threshold age for consent. It appears to be a loophole rife for exploitation by those with no moral scruples such as child rapists....
