They were the Take That or Boyzone of their day, 4 good looking blokes, with cheeky chappy Liverpudian humour, dodgy haircuts, and who were lucky to have an exceptionally good producer in George Martin.....England needed an answer to Elvis, and The Beatles were it and were glorified because they wore different clothes .....but then so did Spandau Ballet when they came out

[QUOTE=BangleMan;6083230]Have you heard him live....its embarassing. /QUOTE]Yes I have and I certainly wasn't embarrassed. His song writing expertise rather than vocal performances will probably be best remembered, although you will probably tell me that Paul just produced the pen&paper for John to write the songs...

As I said in an earlier post on this topic, he wrote some great lyrics with Lennon for sure, and as you say yourself (and this coming from I presume a Beatles fan), his song writing skills will be better remembered than his vocal skills.....When The Beatles broke up and Lennon left him writing alone, apart from the "Band on The Run" Album with Wings (with the helpf of Denny Laine), and Mull of Kintyre, ....and possibly The Frog Chorus or whatever its was called.....can you think of a single album of his that wasnt panned by the critics.......?...No me neither

heh heh!

this is quality - from the judge:

Charity expenditure at an annual rate of £627,000 includes airfares of £180,000 for commercial flights, £120,000 for helicopter flights, and £192,000 for private flights. I accept that the wife is very committed to charities and their causes but the degree of such proposed expenditure is, I am sorry to have to say, ridiculous.

In the absence of any sensible proposal by the wife as to her income needs I
must do the best I can on the material I have. If the wife feels aggrieved about what I propose she only has herself to blame

That probably explains why I loved it so much. Mind you, they wrote some really nice songs that never got much publicity...Norwegian Wood, Michelle and others come to mind.
