Have you ever cheated...

Yes.
Many ways, my favorite became a calculator which could save text and equations.
However in exams where staring at a calculator wasn't acceptable if you have one of those chunky ballpoint pens you can hide a full A4 cheat sheet inside!
You can always print a new version of your calculator instructions.

I had that on my law course. had a couple of friends who were struggling so gave them my essay to use as a base. their's both got marked by a different tutor and both got better marks. read both of them afterwards and neither were as good as mine!

The problem here is that everyone is a VIP and everyone is a grade A student. I will never forget the disbelief on professional people assesed and graded by western/UK standards and confronted with the truth - very sobering for them.
Sadly the result is people get into positions they do not deserve or can deal with .... and then we all suffer.

I am frankly shocked that you would ever consider cheating, Beardman. To me it seems a pointless exercise. How do you learn anything constructive if you cheat at school?

Re: Have you ever cheated...
when you have a good teacher ... you no longer need to cheat specially if you are doing what is required from you at home (homework and prepration for class ..etc.)
but the problem is when you get a very bad teacher who don't know how to present the information properly or who is not really good at his topic.
that is an issue.
but in all cases ... cheating is not good .. a man can fool others... but he can't fool him self.
as mentioned before .. i have seen people cheating from me getting more grades than i got.

Re: Have you ever cheated...
Ironic really when you think about it as I can guarantee you that about 90% of people employed in offices / workplaces etc around the world "cheated" on their C/V's when applying for the job, whether it be saying they have more qualifications than they actually do, or making their previous job / responsibilities more glamourous just to impress the potential employer.......
So if you dont cheat on your exams, you will in all likelihood cheat on your C.V, and if you dont, the chances are the bloke next to you will, and will get the job...........so cheat, cheat, cheat is my motto !

Whats the point of exams in the first place ? Presumably, to get good qualifications to enhance your chances of landing a good job when you leave school / college / University

Re: Have you ever cheated...
well ... i prefere to put facts only about me in my CV that's why it is simple not that big
when someone lie about his responsibilities in his CV .. it is easy to find that out during the interview... if there were the right people to interview him
