Totally agree. Of a team of 10, we officially went down to 1 today. I survived but I suspect that is because I'm an accountant and am needed to shut the rest of it down.

Where do I work I hear you ask? Contractor? Real Estate? Manufacturing? No... One of the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth funds...
Yes, that occurred to me as well.... curiouser and curiouser...

ah, good point. Well we are 2, but we don't normally count the local as he never turns up... and no, I'm not at ADIA (but am very close to it).

Would have been very strange to find the pilot and not the passenger for sure. If the aircraft crashed into a lake as reported you'd be looking for a body not a survivor after even a few minutes.

I know it's not the way here, but if indeed he is dead, having two minutes silence at the World Cup would surely have been a better solution than this silly fabrication.

Sincerely hope it turns out he has survived the crash and will be OK.

maybe true in some places, however here etiquette would, I'd have thought, dictated it was canceled... just what this place doesn't need...

According to the Dean's current avatar, Sheikh Ahmed would appear to have already passed away.

It's an assumptive avatar......... I say 'dead unless proven alive'.

I am surprised this isn't getting more international coverage as the UAE news sites (including Dubai One news) seem to be almost ignoring it completely.

Strange

Strange
CNN were reporting on TV this morning that a prominent Abu Dhabi fund manager had gone missing, no mention of royalty.

The local guy who lives next door to us has just had his full back window of his Landcruiser covered in a picture of the missing Shiekh. Ive seen two more today while driving in Abu Dhabi.
