Re: The Good News Thread
Queen have sensibly reinvented themselves with one legendary vocalist being replaced by another legendary vocalist (admitedly with a totally different style).
Clever move..........

Re: The Good News Thread
Chelsea were knocked out of the Carling Cup by the mighty Burnley...and for the benefit of Mr. Dean, it was NOT pointless for Shadya to say that its not the real Queen who will be performing at Festival City. Yes, Paul Rodgers is a great singer but nobody can replace King Fred. It really pisses me off that all those retired or semi-retired musicians in their late-50's or early-60's get attracted to play here in Dubai, well past their "sell by" date, simply to make a few bucks. The bands I have seen in Dubai have been nowhere as good as they were in their prime. End of rant.

The concert I saw (on TV admittedly, not live in person) featured some completely reworked and rearranged versions of the old stuff - mostly brilliant, and very well received by the crowd. They will find a completely new appreciation in both the old and new audiences.
The worst thing they could have done - I'm sure we can all agree on this - would be to hold auditions for a "Freddie II" who would just have been an 'impersonator'.
The Mercury era - great though it was - is over. We now have Queen II but mercifully not a pale impostor on lead vocal.
Wish I was going - I think it will be amazing.

Can you use those same connections to also get The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs and Chemical Brothers out too please?
