Globe Trotting .......

So after an amazing week in Berlin it has taken over as my favourite place ever visited. Love asking this question - Where is your favourite place in the world?

My favourite place is Auckland, NZ. If you haven't been, it is worth the long trip.

Really?

Salisbury on a summer's day, with a beer, looking at something like the Cathedral takes some beating. But I was blown away by Hoi An. New York is up there too.

In my old age, I choose the places of which I have the warmest personal memories. That means Sweden, Turkey, Lebanon & Cyprus, from my travelling days; Bahamas from the places I've worked; New Zealand and England from visits.

Absolutely. It's a bonkers place with everything and anything happening all the time. From totally manic to sitting by the river just chilling. You can dip in and out of the madness as it pleases you, find little pockets of deeply spiritual places and larger pockets of wanton depravity. It's one of those places that sits comfortably with me, I have a sense of "being home" there. It's hard to describe exactly but some places just feel right to you, Bangkok is one of those for me. Venice is another. I think I have a thing for cities that depend on water for their existence and where rivers and canals are totally interchangeable with roads and streets.

Interesting. I had a night there in Sukhumvit (sp) area to start, hotel was attached to a mall I think (Century 21?). Was awesome area, really good fun.

Then had two nights at end of holiday in different area and didn't enjoy so much.

Would definitely go back and do some proper exploring though.

Bangkok is certainly up there especially if you really explore and get to know the city as it has so much to offer .

There's an edge to the city which you can't describe , i've been 3 times already this year and i've been going for 20 years . HK still holds some great memories and still just pips it as my favorite place . It was the first place i worked overeas and i've still got a soft spot for it .

HK is on my list of places I'm dead keen to go. Thinking it might be the destination for my 30th in a few years for the sevens.
