Is there a set date for employees to be paid in the UAE or are all companies different ?

The company I worked for in Dubai paid me anywhere between the 5th and the 20th of the following month depending on the phases of the moon, the tea leaves in the cup and such like.

Whenever the boss feels like it but invariably between 27-31st of the month.
